Hillside Grade School recently celebrated its rich array of student cultures at the annual Multicultural Showcase, with students who volunteered to perform and share their cultural talents.
The show began with the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as the Bangladesh National Anthem on violin by Samara Choudhury and the Indian National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” on flute by Reyaan Manhas.
Students then shared their cultures with their peers and teachers through song and dance, including a Punjabi dance, a Bengali folk song and a Bhangra dance.
The annual event is organized by the Building Leadership Team, with Mrs. Masiello taking the lead. This event was part of a larger districtwide event in which all four schools participated, and students engaged in meaningful activities to celebrate one another's cultures.
