Hillside Grade School students learned about firefighters’ and EMT’s responsibilities and vehicles during a visit by the local New Hyde Park Fire Department on Oct. 18.
Students toured an ambulatory truck and saw inside a firetruck, as well as looked at a fireman’s uniform up-close. The students listened as the firefighters and EMTs explained their jobs and how students can stay safe.
To thank the department for their visit, students created “thank you” cards.
