As a culmination of their social studies unit on geography in the Western Hemisphere, Manor Oaks School fifth graders created biome projects.

Paired in groups, the students created displays to represent the main types of biomes in the Western Hemisphere, including forests, rainforests, taigas, tundras, grasslands, deserts and marine biomes. As part of the unit, the students learned about settlers and how these various biomes could affect their lifestyles.

The fifth grade classes hosted their Biome Showcase Museum for their peers on Feb. 7.
