Hillside Grade School sixth graders recently showed off their hip hop dancing skills during performances for their families and peers. The students worked with a teacher from the Circle of Dance Repertory Company for six weeks to learn the dance and prepare for the performance.
To further immerse themselves in learning about hip hop, the sixth graders worked in the library to research the dance style’s history and fun facts. They created a video presentation that shared the information.
The district has partnered with Circle of Dance for the past two years to provide students with various dance workshops to promote arts in education.
