Manor Oaks School hosted its second annual Sharpen the Saw Day on June 10. This event allows students in grades K-6 to explore various interests and hobbies through workshops held throughout the school day. Sharpen the Saw is one of the seven components from the values and principles from the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. The goal of “sharpening the saw” is to find balance and learn or enhance skills, and students can prioritize self-renewal and work to improve and grow.
This year’s workshops included Animal Care, A Berry Fun Time (parfait making), Balloon Car Racing, Beachcombing Art, Belt It Out Karaoke, Clay Creations, Cooking, Fun and Games, Journaling with Art, Kayaking – Paddle Stress Away, Lego Lovers, Making Playdoh, MOE’s Makerspace, Ninjutsu, Song Maker, Throw and Grow and Tie Dye Your T-Shirt. The sessions were led by teachers or parent volunteers.
