The 2023-2024 WordMasters Challenge™ is a national vocabulary competition involving nearly 125,000 students annually. Competing in the difficult Blue Division of the WordMasters Challenge™, fifth grader Isabelle Wong (Manor Oaks School) earned a perfect score on the recent challenge. Nationally, only 31 fifth graders achieved this result. Other students from New Hyde Park-Garden City Park UFSD who achieved outstanding results in the meet include fifth grader Darien Fundo (Garden City Park School) and sixth grader Inaya Muhammad (NHP Road School). The students were coached in preparation for the WordMasters Challenge™ by Odyssey Enrichment teacher, Mrs. Dominique Dunn.
