In honor of Music in Our Schools Month, the district honored the 16 students who were selected for the All-County Music Festival at the board of education meeting on March 11.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Morrison-Raptis presented each student with a certificate of recognition for their music achievement. The Garden City Park School students are Dylan Cunanan, Mia Fofic and Trisha Patel. Hillside Grade School students are Alina Benly, Kristen Chen, Lorenzo Conroy and Faith Heskial. Manor Oaks School students are Chloe Lee, Ethan Tsui, Kendrick Williams and Isabelle Wong. New Hyde Park Road School students are Maya Louie, Vishanna Maharajh, Aashutosh Nischal, Zachary Palladino and Patrick Stein.
Following the All-County recognitions, New Hyde Park Road School Principal Denise Connolly and Assistant Principal Colleen Topping presented on their initiatives and events this school year, sharing their motto, “On this ROAD together.” Student Council members presented on the activities they have been part of, as well. The school concluded their presentation with a fun game of Kahoot!, asking the audience to answer Road School trivia questions.
