Reopening Information
Districts have received formal guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) and NYS Education Department (NYSED), which were used to develop our protocols and plans for possible reopening.
Current Long Island government guidelines for school reopening are as follows:
- Schools in Phase 4 regions may reopen if the daily infection rate remains below 5% using a 14-day average.
- Schools will close if the regional infection rate passes 9% over a 7-day average after August 1.
Documents related to reopening are available for download on the left sidebar.
